The Magic Mountain Hotel, Huilo-Huilo
Huilo-Huilo Biological Reserve is a private for profit natural reserve and ecotourism project in southern Chile. The reserve was created in 1999 and includes 600 km2 (232 sq mi) of native forest in Chile dedicated to wildlife conservation and tourism. The reserve is owned by the businessman Víctor Petermann who bought it in the 1990s, and was prior to the land sellings of the late Pinochet dictatorship part of Complejo Forestal y Maderero Panguipulli

We all know that the tree houses as hotels are not certainly a new concept, but this Montana Magica Lodge in Huilo-Hulio, Chile is not just same like all other tree concept hotels. It is no doubt one of most unique hotels in South America.
This whimsical eco hotel is shaped like a volcano and complete with every modern comfort, and like in volcano as the magma flows out on the same way water flows out through this giant structure, giving it a fairy tale like look.
Beyond the obvious eye catching architecture of the Magic Mountain Hotel, the attractive thing at this place is the long list of services. Many of these services are beyond what you would typically find at Chile hotels.

Amidst the Patagonian Rainforest, Chile, is Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve. It covers 100.000 hectares of Temperate Rainforest which houses surprising biological diversity (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve (2007)).

Huilo Huilo is pioneer in a new concept of sustainable development based on three pillars: Conservation through research and emblematic projects like the Patagonian Huemul Conservation Centre, which protects our national emblem, a deer in extinction threat;  Integration of the Local Community, already actively involved, generating a significant number of jobs and training in different disciplines, which permit peoples´ economic reconversion.

Finally, Sustainable Tourism as a new economic activity for the area which includes unique accommodations as the Magic Mountain lodge and amazing expeditions operated by local people
